Last Friday, I was going to take a rest day, but then I realized I was a few days away from a vacation and I’d have plenty of rest then, so I took my butt to the gym after work. Faced with my current routine on a busy Friday night, I was not enthused. Luckily, I had a long commute to help me put together a workout and it was a good one.
Sometimes the simple concept of not following the rules is enough to motivate you into action!
I performed each exercise circuit style and broke up my sets with a sweaty round of HIIT cardio: 4 minutes, 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest.
First set jumping jacks, second burpees, third box jumps, fourth jump rope. I topped it off with a smooth, easy 10 minutes on the bike and went home to sit on my couch and watch Sex and the City. Then said no to the ice cream sitting patiently in my freezer.
